都市化流域のコンクリート三面張り水路の浄化能を、DO濃度を指標とし、その流下過程におけるDO収支を現地観測結果から調べ、水草や藻類の浄化能を評価した。その第一弾として、エビモやジュズモの繁茂する水路において観測・解析した。その結果、冬季の測定結果では、非常に大きな酸素生産能を有し、水路内水質の浄化と酸素供給に大きく貢献していることが伺える結果を得た。
